Update from the Committee – Jan 2021

In these strange times when we can’t meet in person and Gatherings and events have had to be cancelled, the CMSSUK Committee have decided to purchase a Zoom account in order that members can meet together even if it is virtually. We are preparing a programme of online events, details of which will be sent out to members and published on our Social Media channels and Website,, but would include our postponed AGM which we propose to hold at 7pm BST on the 24th April 2021 as we feel that this is the best time for our International members to join us. Please provisionally note this date in your diaries. Members will get an email with more information and papers nearer the time.

The events that our Events Coordinator, Donald, is considering include Historical talk presentations, Musical Evenings and Storytelling (basically Ceilidhs as they used to be), Quizzes, Gaelic tasters (both language and names of places), General pointers to help with Genealogy, virtual tours of places associated with Clan Mackenzie and other topics (which you can help with…see below).

If you think that this is a good idea and/or if there is a topic which members would like to see included, please comment on our Facebook Page or email Donald at events@clanmackenziesociety.co.uk

We hope to make these free as far as possible for Society members with the option to make a small donation (coffee cost as its known) plus a small charge for non-members.

Hope this will be of interest to you all. Tulach Àrd
